Suzanne correct topology

Quite small and obvious suggestion. The mascot should have a correct topology. No triangles. No stars. No separate eyes. No spiral loops. Am i right, guys?

UPD: Don’t get me wrong, i just want to make clean topology for the mascot. First, it looks consistent, if it’s all quads and there are no open meshes. Second, it’s a good example of clean topology for newcomers.

May be it should be a bit denser in some areas. You can take a look at the file i made. The shape is a bit off, but it’s fast paced, so you’ll get the idea. Modified mesh is on the second layer, original is on the third.

I can't find how do i insert an image while editing the post, so here are links to the images: drive.google.com/file/d/0BwpW-7Azb-TsNzJSaGVQRWhNaFk/view drive.google.com/file/d/0BwpW-7Azb-TsQUUyQnFncXJWMVE/view drive.google.com/file/d/0BwpW-7Azb-TsTDZJWTY3YzZsRzA/view

The new one is with the denser mesh.

It might be worth it for you to share an image (or a .blend file) of a Suzanne model with correct topology. Also, could you include reasons why this would be beneficial to Blender users?

Thanks for sharing this file. Perhaps you can edit your proposal to include it (with a screenshot).

Sidenote: thanks for adding the links to the images. It seems that Google Drive doesn't have a nice way to give URLs that are easily embedded/linked from other websites. If you want your images to show up in the post, you're going to need to host those images somewhere that supports direct linking (like imgur or pasteall)

Ah, it doesn't matter already. Nobody seems to like the idea anyway. But thanks!

Why should an object for quick testing use a 'correct' topology (if something like this existed at all)? Suzanne is not the kind of mesh anyone would use for teaching/learning about topology.

Sorry but I don't see a worthwhile benefit.

Of course, no one is going teach topology using this monkey. It's just nicer to have a clean topology mesh and to look at it. That's all i wanted to say.

There is some benefit to having a watertight, quad-only topology. For instance if you're testing physics simulation or 3D printing, it can be nice to have a quickly accessible "good mesh" as a reference.

That said, having a "bad mesh" can be equally beneficial for testing purposes... and from a teaching standpoint, I've given Suzanne as a retopology challenge to students in the past. ;)

Yes, i forgot about physics to mention. Good point!

imagine people doing quick test with boolean mesh operations, or glass correct topollogy you got me upvote (that is if i can upvote ideas??)
