Request: painting with multiple textures at the same time (painting PBR materials)
I miss the option for painting multiple textures at the same time.
This is handy for creating PBR textures for Principled BSDF.
In the foaling mock-ups is showing how this looks like in combination with the Principled shader:
This mock-up show a Principled texture canvas link to a Principled sheared:
And here shows a mock-up of a texture source for the Principled texture canvas.

This would be nice. The material painting workflow is widely used right now and Blender is in need of better ways of handling this.
Another way of doing this is with just painting masks, which is my current workflow, I made nodegroups and use Node Wrangler to help me automate the process. Then you can bake the individual channels at the end, when you don't want to tweak the materials further.
The problem is that sometimes it's tedious to plug each wire if you're starting from scratch or don't use Node Wrangler. The screen gets filled with lines and you have to zoom far. That's why I made a proposal in the past about a new type of plug that would
combine multiple node sockets
, this would benefits nodes in general
But I also like your idea of painting multiple channels. It's similar to
ArmorPaint
Very Similar to this proposal ( blender.community/c/rightclickselect/vbbbbc/multipass-texture-painting ) .
