Geometry nodes: Change value types on the value itself
My concern is that in geometry nodes, many of the nodes are larger and more complex than they need to be.
One of the reasons is the value types in the attribute based nodes that correspond to other values in the input of the node. Generally, this is a choice between an attribute and a float, or vector.
Take the attribute vector math node. There are two changible values: a and b.
In order to change what type these values are, you must first look at what value you want to change, then change it in the settings at the top. Then you have to look back at your value, because you need to manage your value as usual.
Your brain must create a link between these two places. Shouldn't the computer be doing this for us? I mean, it works, but could it be better?
Yes! The setting is right where it needs to be! You can easily tell what value it is changing, We don't have the clutter in the settings. The node is much smaller, and looks less complicated.
And this is not the worst of nodes, that would benefit from this change the most.
Look at this monster, the attribute vector rotate node. Imagine if it were compacted. Wouldn't it be so much easier to wrap your brain around?

Nice! I always love it when the devs think the same thing as me.
I don't know if there is a way to change status in the new blender.community?
It's a moderators-only feature for the moment. I updated the status of your idea.
