Blender Plane Offset to the Outside
Hi.I am an architect, and I would like to know why the offset in Blender's edit mode cannot be done directly outward like in other common software. Look here:

Edit mesh tools addons has option to offset edges: extensions.blender.org/add-ons/edit-mesh-tools/ (you can also find it in extentions tab in blender)
Also check out egde offset nodegroup as past of Higgsas GN (nodegroups can also be uses as tools): blenderartists.org/t/higgsas-geometry-nodes-groups-blender-3-3-4-2/1351737/66
Thank you for your answer. I'll give it a try.
there is an addon "offset edges" to do such things.
Thank you
You can simulate this outset effect as it's seen in the videos by extruding (E), canceling moving the extruded geometry (right-click), scaling the new geometry up (S then move mouse away then left-click), then deleting the currently selected faces (X > "Faces").
Note that there's an "Inset" tool for edit mode, with an "Outset" mode, but it only works for making an extra cut in outward geometry that already exists.
Having a handier, more unified "outset" that works both over existing geometry and creating new where applicable may be good, though it may also be ambiguous to define what it does when both cases exist at the same time.
it doesnt scale uniforming across all edges.
I know about this matter, but it's not as convenient as using SketchUp.I need the thickness of the outward offset.
