Blender Hub

Hi there, all. I am a beginner to intermediate blender user. Before stumbling onto the software I knew nothing about 3D or 2D modelling, animation, or anything related to that. Consequently, when I downloaded the program I was immediately bombarded with a whole toolset of complex functions and whatnot that I had absolutely no idea how to use. Therefore, I wound up having to turn to sites like YouTube, Google, and Blender Stack Exchange in order to attempt to solve my problems.

The reason I led with this is the following:

I love Blender- I think it is a God send and I don't know what I'd do without it; I love all of the updates and will now and always continue to be a happy Blender User. However, I think the Blender Foundation should look into having a downloadable Blender Hub where all the latest available versions of Blender is accessible and can be downloaded - something like what Unity3d and Unreal Engine has. They should have forums and a community made up of their Blenderers where new users could ask questions, get help on their projects and troubleshoot any issues they may have using the blender software (I know that would have saved me a lot of time! :) ). I'm not knocking YouTube videos or other professionals out there who do Blender troubleshooting (a lot of them have helped me with my projects) but I feel like it would be easier and more New User Friendly if artists of the Official Blender Team could respond to you directly and even peek into your project to troubleshoot issues without having to go to another site and have you send in a link. I am currently having issues with water physics simulation and can't seem to fix it on my own and I know something like what I mentioned would be extremely helpful, hence the post.

Thank you for taking the time to read my long post :/ and as I said, I love the Blender Program and in my opinion it is the BEST and MOST VERSATILE AND FREE PROFESSIONAL program I have run across on the internet. :D

It sounds like you're describing blender.org ... and particularly the community page on blender.org . Blender is open source. It's power is in the community.

* @Jason van Gumster * Somewhat but what I'm talking about is something downloadable where you don't necessarily have to go to the site. Thanks for the feedback tho

* @lightbounde.studios * What, exactly, is the problem with going to the site? Most people have at least one browser window up on on their desktop anyway.

Untold

* @Jason van Gumster * Well I think that having a Hub helps to manage multiple versions of the software and it makes it quicker and easier to download or uninstall any version. If it wasn't like so then why would Hubs even exist?
