Multi-Object Assets
Use case: A kitchen Cupboard with a door. I have the door parented to the carcass so it can rotate open. I therefore want both objects to appear as a single asset. What I get is the carcass and the door as separate assets.
If I assign carcass as asset. carcass preview appears as asset If I assign carcass to collection, assign collection as asset - no asset is created If I add carcass and door to collection. Mark both as assets - both appear as unrelated assets If I parent door to carcass, assign carcass as asset - carcass appears as asset, carcass(parent) does not bring door(child) with it. If I parent door to carcass, assign both as asset - both appear as assets, carcass does not bring door with it - door(child) DOES bring the carcass (parent) with it. This logic appears to be in direct contradiction to how transforms are applied.
Can we arrange it so that if a collection is marked asset then the objects marked under it are considered a single asset? If this is not possible can we at least arrange for a parent to include it's children and not the other way round?
Thanks
Pete

What you describe is indeed Collections as assets. They didn't make it to 3.0 in time but they are in the roadmap. So I'm marking this as In Development
Yesss! Thanks for the answer, I was looking for it. I realized asset browser is working perfect for materials. But for objects is a huge limitation not having a multi object (collection) asset.
