I would like to implement this, thanks for putting it here!
If you want a workaround hack for now though, you can copy and past the curve in the widget and store it temporarily in a modifier's widget. Just hover over it and press
ctrl-Candctrl-V* @h.goudey * Thanks, I just figured out what you meant by widget. I did use the Bevel Modifier in 'Modifier Properties' on a cube mesh which can store as many profiles as I like to that one cube then copy and paste as I choose. This is a good workaround until something like saving the profile is implemented in Blender. Thank you! Thank you! Thank you!
this would be instrumental. Common, this was too much of a cool feature to be deprived of such a basic functionality.
Really need this for working with custom molding for architecture.
The custom curves are so convenient. Being able to save presets should be a given! It would also be nice to add a circle to the preset curves or to be able to import curve objects as presets. The aim of the game should be to make extra curve objects unnecessary.
One comment on the curve point editing: it would be nice to have consistent tools in bevel curves and curve objects. I.E. Ctrl+clicking points to insert new ones should work everywhere.
That is a very strange thing that this option is not yet available. Shouldn't be hard to implement as blender must already have the curve stored as some kind of datablock. It just needs a way to expose the option and save/reuse the custom datablock. That would make the feature fully usable. Now it seems kinda half finished...
turns out it's been done but it is in a payed addon youtube.com/watch
So did someone picked this idea up?
* @rafa.olhalak * I will work on this, but I'm sort of waiting to see if it could fit into the design for the asset manager.
is anyone working on this?
