something about video proxies I think?

What's Premiere Pro render and what is it doing on a Blender feature request portal?

I have a hard time understanding your post.

Sorry if I am wrong, but if I understand ;

  • you have a bunch of textured mesh objects you made using the Import Images as Planes addon
  • you animated them in the 3d space
  • you want an easy way to bake that animation somehow into a rendered file (like an image sequence or a video file?)
  • and then somehow replace your textured mesh objects by the rendered file into your scene, working effectively as a 2d baking of your 3d scene

IF that's right, a few questions:

  1. a bunch of textures planes moving around isn't that much of a performance impact, but rendering and encoding files takes a bit of time, so is all that proxy-like rendering worth it?

  2. if you render a 3d scene into a 2d plane, you lose all the advantages of the 3d scene, is it worth it?

  3. Have you tried this:

    1. Make a regular render, or a "viewport render" via View > Viewport Render Animation
    2. Import that render as a movie file or image sequence with the Import Images as Planes addon and the following settings:

    import setting 3. Parent the plane to your camera so that it moves with the camera. 4. Assign the objects you don't need anymore to a collection, and disable this collection in the outliner.

    Does this fulfill your needs?
    If not, what else do you need exactly?
