Create a survey to know what the community needs
Hello,
Godot did this recently, and I find it really important for Blender to do something similar. As far as I know, the Blender team may not be fully aware of the community's priorities since there isn't enough data on it.
To get a better picture of what Blender needs to focus on, my proposal is this: create a survey that asks the entire user base how they use Blender.
Of course, the survey should focus on people who actively use Blender, as those with little experience may not provide substantial feedback. This should target professionals using Blender since they can provide more valuable insights than hobbyists who may only create isometric low poly rooms or donuts :)
The survey should ask:
- For what purpose do they use Blender (gamedev, film, animations, science, architectural visualization, etc.)
- Do they use it for hobby, work, or both?
- Are they freelancers or do they work for a company?
- Do they donate to Blender?
- Do they have experience with other 3D software (and which ones)?
- What do they think is missing in Blender natively?
- What do they think should be improved?
- Are they happy with the development Blender has made over the last year?
- Do they use more Eevee or Cycles?
- Are they familiar with what Open Source means?
- Are they happy with Eevee?
- Are they happy with Cycles?
- Do they use Grease Pencil?
- Do they use Geometry Nodes?
- Do they use Blender for modeling?
- Do they use Blender for texturing?
- Do they use Blender for rendering?
- Do they use Blender for sculpting (and also for animation, compositing, etc.)?
- Do they rely on any addons for their work?
- Which addons do they rely on? (This could help the Blender dev team understand what users like and what's lacking in Blender vanilla)
- Do they know how to program? (To understand how many users have programming skills)
These are just a few questions that come to mind. A more curated and specific survey should be created to gather comprehensive information. I believe this would be highly beneficial for the Blender project and something that should be done annually.
If you have any additional questions to suggest, please comment so the admins can also consider them. What do you think of the idea?

It should be in internal GUI interface.. it's good.. "meet your" client/user... and "how happy" you are.. then can be balance for project management... but they should have separated filed "a corporate sponsors and moles" blender.community/c/rightclickselect/jnvY/
