Ocean Modifier Ideas

I believe it is possible to increment the ocean modifier with some extra tools:

Infinite mode, or with some infinite area (to maintain a marine coastline)

Use of fluid type particles to make water splash(metaballs or not)

Use fluid-type dynamic painting directly on surface texture (no need to manually create a UV map, create a sequence of images in a folder on your PC manually, and configure everything via the node editor also manually)

Make rigid body objects and the like float and sink using an area of Blender's own physics section to deal with this ocean simulator

Effects on camera underwater and on top, like underwater caustic, plus dripping or rising drops(currently we would need to do a whole configuration with the nodes to achieve such results)

Bubbles under water and surface when something moves on it

Debris in the water using presets, assets, or collections

Collision effect around an object and collision with a border or limit (as in a pool)

Be affected by force fields

Use of relief maps and parallax occlusion maps to reduce the number of faces required for quality simulation to improve performance)

Use Adaptive Mesh Refinement to help control mesh resolution and improve performance

Imagine the same technique used in this image below being used by the ocean modifier's wave texture code and by dynamic painting

More complex things like rippling and breaking waves, beach water on the coast, and water breaking on rocks, ships, or other things, I have no idea how to do it with quality

Well, that's a bit generic: it's like saying I want everything beautiful and working great! A proposal should show at least how UI would expose the feature, also discussing different implementation or linking papers would be great. By the way I remember reading a paper about fluid simulation based not on particles, or (billions of) volume cells, but on flat geometry deformation, just as what ocean modifier outputs...

* @ Lsscpp * I imagine it would be possible to increase the quality of the ocean modifier by bringing in other tools Blender already has. Such as dynamic painting, fluid type particles, and particles for bubbles and debris. It can have different effects under and over water using the post-production part. Who knows a little game engine physics or rigid body for buoyancy. That is, without the need to mix these tools. They are already Ocean's internal options.

I daresay FLIP Fluids will suit your project.

* @ammusionist * Thanks for the comments. I know the FLIP Fluids. But I think the Ocean will still be useful for games for a while.

* @ Lsscpp * I made a wrong post here. Excuse me. I do not know if I understand how this video tool works. But the drop dropping and splashing water from a surface is exactly the kind of thing I'm talking about that would be interesting to have in the Ocean modifier.

A question:

Should I be editing my posts, how am I doing, or should I delete them and post again?

P.S .: I do not know how to delete them

* @thiagocavalcantecarvalho * If the idea hasn't changed and you're providing more content for it to clarify or explain things, then just edit.

* @Jason van Gumster * Um, okay, thanks for the guidance.

You should include mock-ups that show the controls for these features you're adding.

thiagocavalcantecarvalho Author

* @Jason van Gumster * Sorry, but what are mock-ups?

jason

* @thiagocavalcantecarvalho * Make an image in GIMP or Photoshop or whatever your image editor of choice is and show what things should look like, where controls should be placed and visualize the workflow that you would imagine users would use.
