See Grease pencil Color attribute texture in StoryPencil Edit preview

Add the material preview mode to the VSE Edit preview that is shown in a storyboard session from storypencil. Currently it can only display Grease pencil material textures that are visible in solid preview mode. Would be nice if it could display the Material preview mode StoryboardSession-VSE preview vs file preview.jpg

I think of drawing with the Grease Pencil as in one of two modes:

  • Material colors
  • Vertex colors (now called Color Attributes).

With Material colors, you define a new material for each color you want in the scene. i.e Blue Stroke, Red FIll, etc. With viewport shading set to Solid everything displays correctly between GP and VSE.

However, with Vertex colors (color attribute), you can have 3 materials (Stroke, Fill, Stroke Fill) and paint with any brush color your want as it colors the vertices, not assign a material color . With viewport shading set to Solid , strokes drawn this way are displayed black and white grayscale . Vertex colors require the viewport shading to be Material Preview.
