Drawing pad for blender grease pencil (Easier way to draw with a 3d guide)

Hello guys. I would like to propose a feature that will give the user an option to use a simple plane or different type of object as a base for their drawing.

I am not sure if this is already possible in blender but this is a nice way to draw sketches with a different level of control. I am not yet familiar with grease pencil and I am still planning to learn it soon. I just wanted to propose this feature and maybe some will find it useful.

The main feature of the drawing pad is for the user to be able to draw in the plane similar to face snapping. In this case I am not sure if there is a way to make the sketch snap on the surface without having to face the plane in a parallel manner.
