Make Viewport Light Cone Color Match Spotlight Color

I have a simple idea I'd like to see implemented into Blender. If I create a spotlight, and I make the light red, it should appear as a red cone if 'show cones' is enabled. If I animate that light to change to blue, the color of the cone in the viewport should also follow suit. Instead, they currently always appear white, no matter what color the light is. If I'm making a light show, it's not helpful if they all appear white.

Cycles supports nodes in lights and soon Eevee will too. What would you see in that case? What about textured lights?

* @Pablo Vazquez * would be nice to have the dominant or averaged color from textures. I know that there is possible (addon) for objects to have the viewport color in sync with the averaged texture color. At least with image textures if not with procedurals.
