Large Internet Network Render Farm for Blender members
Purpose: Blender members leave Blender in a specific sharing mode when they are not using it. For example some nights, which is interesting given the international coverage of blender users.
Other members can use the power of this large rendering network for its benefit.
We must think about the rules of use: Why not a computing capacity on the network proportional to the time that we left his blender for the community. All this duly identified by the ID blender?

No thanks, I don't want let a software burn my electricity & data bills.
@loic.dautry: If you let your machine run everyone else's renders for one week, and then use the service to render an animation that would take you a week to render on your own, there's no difference in power used, but you get to deliver your animation on one day instead of one week. Actually, this math is wrong, because in the case of Sheep-it. I get back more than I put in.
Sheep-it has been great. I actually come out on top. I traded a full week of render time for 400,000+ credits and over the course of the next week was able to render thousands of hours worth of animation (render time), make changes and re-render where needed. I broke my projects into several small clips and was getting the 500-1000 frame segments back within a few hours. A single 1000 frame animation at 7 minutes per frame (average) would have taken close to 5 full days to render myself and my computer would be bogged down, meaning I can't keep working on the next shot. Instead I get it back within a couple of hours and can continue working while it's rendering.
Now imagine if something wasn't set up right in the blend file. Something that wasn't obvious until I played back the animation. Say this made me need to re-render 500 of the frames. I would rather wait another hour or two for this process than wait 2.5 days. This isn't a hypothetical situation. It actually happened to me.
@dpdpforlife: It's basically using your computer's downtime to store rendering time for later use.
Edit : Last year I did an experiment to see how good my pc would be at heating in the winter by having it crunch 24/7 for a few months. It turns out it replaced the need for the heater in that room quite well and had no impact on my electricity bill. I Believe I'll be signing up to sheepit with this in mind in the very near future :)
Hey, I'm reacting to the proposal, not to Sheep-it.
@loic.dautry: I'm thinking ptkmgr is talking about the same sort of credit system when they mention proportionality.
Ok, I know sheepit now. Thx.
My idea was that it's fully integrated with blender and directly linked to the blender ID but Sheepit is already doing a very good job. Maybe integrate a sharing system as a torrent to optimize throughput and unleash even greater potential
Convert PC to heater + farm render is cool concept
And animation oriented
