Sequencer LOVE: Tabs, UI polishing and more
Some time ago I put together some ideas to improve the VSE, looking at each type of strip and the overall Sequencer workflow. I did an interactive page to present them.
[Update] As suggested by @campbell, I'm creating multiple entries to replace this one. Please upvote the ideas you like:
- Properties Panels Update
- Tabs for a better UI
- Buttons to get IN/OUTside a Meta strip
- Blend strips (Add, Substract...) with Fader

The scope of this is far too wide, This should be multiple posts.
Should this entry be deleted and be create entries for each item like one to Tabs, other to Multicam strip options and so on?
Yep, each changed moved into a single post (you can link them to eachother if its needed of course).
Yes. Please make this multiple proposals.
nice!! i think right now, the sequencer is very messy, especially if you compare it to other video editing softwares. such improvements will really clean it up!! also, i think sequencer is the only thing "lagging" behind in blender. such improvements will keep it up to mark with other features of blender and make blender a powerful video editor
Thank you, I appreciate and agree to your comment. By the way. I added a item about Meta strips in the Minor improvements section, just saying to let you know.

no problem. i really like this idea and will support it all the way
One huge advantage here is that it would make the VSE Quick Functions addon far more practical.... My problem with this addon in it's current form is that once you get 20 odd strips in the VSE, the QuickList function clogs up the VSE Properties panel.

I think that I agree with most of this proposal, the tabs would at least make the VSE uniform with the other editing windows. It would be nice to split the panel so that you could have multiple tabs available but I guess you could always spawn another instance of the VSE and shrink it to just the tabs panel.

Could be marked as done, as the panles have been reworked in 2.8+
