Custom Tab for storing context sensitive frequently used parameters

A custom tab would be good, where you could drag any parameter you wanted to have quick access to, and then next to each parameter you could have checkboxes for:

Affect all params of this type Affect individual param only absoulte value adjust relative value adjust.

You could also have a dropdown so you can select which modes and layouts each parameter will be visible in (all by default). This way changing mode or layout would automatically change the contents of the custom tab to show only relevant controls.

There could be two sub tabs, one showing Blender created context sensitive params, and one for user context sensitive custom parameters.

You could even have a third tab which stores frequently used parameters per mode/layout. This way the software could auto populate based on individual user usage, and blender could even use this information to suggest alternative/better ways of working.

A custom tab where ? Is this meant to be a workspace tab, a section in the Properties editor? Quick tasks?

Your justification seems to make sense, but it's not clear where you think it should go in Blender's interface.

@Jason van Gumster:

Its own option in the editor type drop down menu, so it could be selected in any panel, much the same as the outliner or node editor for example. This would allow it to be open in conjuction with the Properties editor type, for fast drag and drop of custom properties. This way it could also contain multiple tabs, like the the existing properties editor type.

@tibbyninja: I think I get what you're saying. Any chance you could put together a visual mock-up that shows what you imagine it would look like?

Hi Jason, i'll try to get that done this week. Just in panic mode at the moment, as a client has asked me to learn blender whilst doing live jobs...and still hit deadlines :D
