Protected Bone Collections

rigs use quite a lot of technical bones that animators should not see, and even more so change something in them (and there is such an opportunity, up to the removal of constraints)

I suggest making it possible to mark collections as "protected". They will only be displayed in the source file with the rig. When the rig is linked, the collection data will not be displayed in the UI

Hiding data that is there sounds like a recipe for disaster when people try to figure out issues. I'd rather just have a regular lock that does just as expected: locks the content from modification.

That being said, adding the selectable feature we already have with regular collections basically does that for free. This combined with visibility, and it's a pretty granular way for riggers to protect parts of their rigs without obfuscating how it works and confusing people.

I thought about the fact that using technical bones it is possible to solve problems, but I have not met such an experience. Perhaps adding the ability to disable bone selectability in the collection would be a great solution.

You can already do this. Select anything in the outliner, and click the icon that makes it not selectable.

I can't test it right now, but I don't think you can do that on bone collections, right?
