Tesselate GN
Tesselate Node would have the same functionality as "Tissue" addon for Blender. So it populates mesh faces with custom panels.

i hope Blender releases an official and fully tested node with similar functionality. Hopefully it would work with triangular and hexagonal faces as an option too.

There are quite a few implementations of this by different users including erindale's geometry node pack that includes a tessellation group.
The point is to get an official node from blender which would work with better performance and could work with hexagonal and triangular faces too
