Sample nearest node improvement

I need to read data from nearby points but only in a certain direction. Here's a redesigned sample nearest node that allows the user to specify a search area.

The node also allows for unlimited attributes to be read. Blender will indicate which input relates to which output, by numbering the attached input nodes and receiving re-route nodes/sockets.

The beam angle can be set between zero (acts like raycast), and 360 (acts like current sample nearest node).

Beam height expands the search area away from the start point in the direction of the beam up vector, so that the search area can be limited to a narrow area when needed.

You could follow the design of the capture attribute node update that now allows arbitrary inputs to be placed with its dynamic socket

Yes that would work too, probably better in fact as the code is already there 👍
