Hello Pablo, you say a while ago that the "Make VSE great again" project was launched, how is progress going? And is there any info when multi-threaded render & GPU render on VSE will come?

Hey Pablo,

Is there any hope for proper UV tools (like better stretch / relax tools) and better unwrap algorithm being implemented, I know that UV's are on the road map but it feels like no progress is being made.

I have an add-on for almost everything but relax / stretch tools nothing exists for it like pelt mapping or anything similar and it makes complex organic models really hard to work with, UV's are such an important part of 3D but it feels so neglected.

Thanks for all the effort though love the blender team!

Hey Pablo!

Just a small request.

Could you share your current custom build with the new mockup for nodes? May be on graphicall. It looks so pretty and would love to try it out. :)

Hey Pablo, Any plans on letting users select the curve in graph editor. I really hate not being able to select the curve especially when the keyframe location overlap themselves.

Happy bday, Pablo! Wikimedia needs good Blender renders. All the Wikipedia editions are excellent showcases for what can be done in B3D. Upload them to the [ commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/Special:UploadWizard ] page. Place them in Category:Blender (software). Make sure the license is reative Commons Attribution-Share Alike 3.0 .

* @Klutz * Pablo mentioned this in the stream: The splash screens are licenced under a CC licence. The files can be downloaded from blender.org/download/demo-files/ On Wikimedia Commons there already is commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/Category:Blender_splash_screens for those and they are up to date.

As person working on Wikipedia and Wikimedia Commons I'm strongly against uploading renders that you have not done 100% yourself. Models, textures and the render itself are copyrighted. All of them have to be freely licenced so that the final image can be freely licenced as well. There is a huge ammount of copyright violations already on Commons and uploading any render that you can get would not do any good. Even though I am supportive of new blender renders.

Add Category:Blender (software): Please do not use this category, but the subcategory that fits best. The category already has over 600 files and if you stuff more into them you won*t be able to find the timage you want to.

Add CC-BY-SA 3.0: You can use other licences as well. On commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/Commons:Copyright_tags you have linked several pages with multiple licences that can be used.

As positive example I want to link to en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cryptomatte The page was created recently and all images were created with blender. The page even uses the splash of 2.81 as example image.

Hi Pablo! any word about the support for the new M1 macs? Is there any hope for the future of mac support? Thank you as always! And I hope you start a wonderful year tomorrow!

Hi Pablo, i like your node-design, so cool ! One thing which seems to just bother me is that the sliders are really hard to control on very small numbers.

Hey Pablo, love your mockups or the Geometry nodes UI. I noticed there is an eye icon, and I assume this it to highlight that particular node and make whatever step it is visible in the viewport? Is that how it would work? If so I was curious what the point of the “geometry output” node serves, if the eye icon controls what is the “output” persay.

Thanks! {attachment Nodespng}

* @daniellapalme * can the nodes talk or why is there a mute button?

daniellapalme

* @pipeliner * pretty sure that is "mute" aka "bypass". No different from shading nodes.

Hey Pablo! Happy Birthday! Any idea when the new hair system is going to be worked on? Thank you!

Hello! Are we ever gonna see the return of grabhandles on the corners of the viewport subdivisions/windows? 2.8+ has been too fussy for too long, and I remember there was a brief highlight on such a feature before 2.8 even entered beta!

Hi Pablo! It's always an adventure to guess whether it will be the Stream or not =))

Any way! (Happy birthday tomorrow!!!!! Thanks for your stream!!! Never get old and boring!!)

Last time I told about one of my secret shenanigans with Cycles code.

Here's the time to spill the beans: this is the "spread" parameter for Ambient Occlusion.

Please, follow the link on devtalk.blender for the explanation and pictures.

devtalk.blender.org/t/ambient-occlusion-spread-parameter/16624

I hope, the developers' team will find this useful and quite possible to implement. (could you please poke them?) Thank you!

My man how do you get the time to actually develop with the amount of meeting you guys have?

Hello, Pablo. Since I've upgraded to Blender 2.91, blender automatically marks sharp around UV seams, I assume it does it after uv mapping. Is there a way to disable this feature?

Additional info: Smooth Normals and 180 degree angle option is enabled, no custom normal data.

Hi Pablo, when will the "Multi-Res Modifier" receive hotkeys (Ctrl+D / Shift+D) to increase and decrease subdivision levels on the fly while in "Sculpt Mode"? - I wrote this question to P Dobarro, seems he blocked me for asking him this question. I really think Blender needs this in order to improve its sculpt prospects for working fluidly on the fly. - Note: No hotkey commands can be assigned, hence why I ask. Thank you!

r.neira88

Hi Pablo! Love seeing your shows :) - Is there anything else needed to make Sculpt "switch object" work? I'm using 2.91 - have different objects, and press D while in Sculpt mode and it doesn't change the object. Anything needs to be pre-enabled that I might be missing? Thank you!! From Buenos Aires <3

salaivv

* @r.neira88 * It is not available in 2.91 yet. It didn't make it to the release. You need the latest 2.92 build and you should enable the operator in the Experimental section in your preferences.

1
r.neira88

* @Salai Vedha Viradhan * Oh I see thanks! and what about 2.83 LTS ? is it available there? thank you!

salaivv

Also if you don't see the Experimental section, enable Developer Extras in Interface section in your preferences.

1
salaivv

* @r.neira88 * Oh not 2.82. I meant 2.92. And no, its not there in 2.83.

r.neira88

* @Salai Vedha Viradhan * thanks! I'll check it :)

Hey Pablo, I'm pretty new to blender, im switching from another 3D dcc app. Main problem I have with blender is that UV editor is quite out of date compared to other alternatives. are there any plans to improve it in the near future?
