Hola Pablo!

If someone wanted to work at/collaborate with the Blender Studio on their open movies, do you by any chance know how could he get in contact with them to propose himself, if there are any chances of this?

Thanks!

Hola Pablo,

Thanks for editing the post 👍

Have you ever thougt about giving Blender versions a nickname that follows a theme, like some other Companies do (E.g. Ubuntu, Android, Apple,...) Not sure what theme this could be, but might be fun to consider and it could give each release a bit more personality 😄

Hello Pablo how are you doing.

I have recently watch the Insider and InspirationTuts videos that talk about how Disney and Pixar animate, make and simulate hair.

InspirationTuts youtube.com/watch

Since Blender is focusing on Hair and simulation right now, I would really recommend you to check these out they seem to do a good job of giving an overview without been to long.

Also I've link to the Pixar Paper on Hair graphics.pixar.com/library/CurlyHairA/paper.pdf

And Disney Website where they have a bunch of papers that explain their methods to animate and simulate hair.

Hey Pablo,

Would there be just solvers as one node in future for physics sims or solvers would be just group nodes made with low level nodes available in Blender. IMPO, the 2nd option is better because if Blender will ship with those group nodes then people can just use those but for those who wanna dig deep, they can just change few of the underlying nodes of that solver group node instead of changing Blender's code or just create very custom simulations from scratch with low level nodes in Blender. For that the group nodes in Blender would need some visual and functional updates as well to match closely with other native nodes in Blender and that way the performance of multiple nested node groups can be improved as well. But that's just my personal opinion.

There is also a 'back from dead' DDC in the town, it's lightwave and they are coming back with their new feature update "Geonodes" in Nov' lol, so more competition. Another DDC, Modo is developing (someone from Modo community) a plugin for Cycles inside of Modo.

Hello! How can I help work on this project? I'm an animator and modeler, am really interested in painterly CG style, and love anything to do with pirates and sea-fairing adventures. I'd love to do anything to help, even if it's just spreadsheets to help keep things organized. Is there a spot to apply? Thanks so much! It would really be a tremendous honor to have this opportunity.

Good day, Pablo, I wish you and all BlenderHeads a wonderful week I have a simple request: when using a movie source, we have the option to match the frames with the movie length in the texture Properties tab. Can we have this feature in the shader/geonodes editor?

Hola Pablo. Thanks for your hard work as always.

Since light tree sampling was introduced, I've noticed that it can cause a serious slowdown in cycles preview mode. This is mostly noticeable in edit mode. Especially when using lots of emissive surfaces (thousands of emissive planes for example). I assume this is because the tree has to be continually rebuilt to reflect each change.

It would be nice to have the light tree disabled in the viewport by default, with an optional toggle switch to enable it.

Also, when are we getting Caminandes 4? :)

oi, pablo! I'm personally against calling it 4.0 on the basis that 3.0 marked every area of blender being changed after 2, but simulations and baking have not been touched, and VFX hasn't been changed much since 2.79...

And what about sound? (you could theoretically simulate it with raycasts I would think. imagine simulating sound in room sizes!) blender can output sound! boy was that forgotten.

also, I put out my reel, including blender!

Blender went from version 1 to 2 when it became open source :-) Blender 2.04 was released in the year 2000.

We didn't went to Version 3.0 because all features where touched. The previous versioning system became more of a joke as Blender had many overhauls, without a large number change. So we decided on a numbering system based on time. Having a major version change every 3 years. Features land when they are finished, stable and documented.

...I can agree on that, now that I know it's time-based, though after spending basically my entire life using blender 2-3, only 3 years from 3-4 feels super rushed, y'know? it's scary and makes me feel old and like time is speeding up. =3=

I still take a little issue with the speed of production, though. I feel one less dev cycle a year might be more balanced? my friends and coworkers can't keep up with releases, and it takes a lot of time to fix things and put out a full release. Would one fewer release a year (from 4 to 3) equate to more time for development and bugsmashing? (on another note, that's why I love 12. so many good ways to divide it. perfect size for teams and times)

Hi and hello How many movies has Blender Studio planned ahead? I just finished processing Charge and looking forward to Pet Projects and now you have me flummoxed with another project? I need to sit down.

Hello Pablo ! How are you ?

I was wondering, are the little dynamic teasers like the 2.9 one a thing that will continue for the next blender versions or is it totally abandonned ?
