Object visibility switch
Hey I'm looking for some help to understand how to make a slider or driver that can effective swap a mesh for another mesh.
So the idea is to turn visibility of one mesh on and the other off and same in reverse.
I'm sure this can be done but I'm not sure how.
I know how to do it manually but that's super slow for animation. I just want to keyframe one value on and off an control a couple of mesh visibilities in one go.
I've looked around online and I can't seem to find anyone having done this already.
Cheers,

You can set up a driver to do this, or, you can copy keyframes and move them around, or, you can copy transforms to your target objects from a "controller" object and scale the control to zero (with constant interpolation - although Motion Blur might cause minor issues) - there are a number of ways to do this - it really just depends on how involved you want your solution to be, and how much time you want to put into it (but, truthfully, a Driver is the way to go).
Cheers, that works ok with one or 2 objects but if you're animating lots and you want to switch quickly it's a bit slow, I wanna hook it up to something rather than do it that way if that makes sense?
It's kinda like stop motion replacement animation so could be quite a slow process selecting each mesh and then going to properties and then turning it of or on every time.
Hi, You can animate the object visibility in the viewport and in the render. If you look at your right of the interface in the "OBJECT PROPERTY TAB", you will see:
"VISIBILITY" and if you look at the extreme right you will see a dot. That mean that property can be animated.
