AN IDEA BEING PUBLICISWED IN THE COMMUNITY WHERE I LIVE (UK)

I am a self-taught cartoonist, I started cartooning in 2009.

As I have progressed in developing my skills digital art software packages have caught my interest. One fantastic, and I mean FANTASTIC, package is Blender.

I am in the process of learning how to use Blender and some add-on packages. I am 80 years old, reasonably proficient at using a computer, and forever prepared to learn new skills. The challenge and opportunities of Blender really excite me.

I offer a challenge and invitation to other aged juveniles in the community to form a Blender Club where we can help and encourage each other in developing computer 3-D modelling skills and in developing animated videos. My personal aim is to produce an animated video of the Nativity. Others might be interested in such projects as developing and animating scenes of community life, in present or past times. I know someone who uses Blender to build sophisticated aircraft models, another creates models of trains and cars. Buildings can feature in Blender work as can flowers, animals and scenes from nature. The list is endless.

What I would like to do is to initially set up a friendly informal workshop, possibly meeting at my home, rotating meetings in the homes of workshop members or meeting in a central point in the community with the aim of offering offer an opportunity to develop 3D computer modelling skills. There is a strong possibility that members’ children and/or grandchildren will be impressed as 3D modelling shills are developed.
