Oi! Pablo!
On the subject of release timing, 3 a year would be best, I tutor a few people and they usually find the updates too minimal to follow, but too frequent to bother with. 3 a year feels better, maybe even 2.5 per year (5 month cycles) because people who like keeping up with it use daily or alpha builds anyway! I think it's biased here because the people here already get the new releases a bunch!
I heard there were some updates on physics nodes! I'm curious if there are any plans or information on how it will work, now that we're removing simulations' dependence on frame times! or is that still the plan? Getting some early ground rules in place for what such nodes and math would be needed to implement would be good for public development!

Hey Pablo!
Wondering if you have any timelines / target dates for EEVEE Next?
Also any updates on Light Linking? (Not compositing based) I'm sure your tired of hearing this question, but it's important to a large majority of 3D artists. Any target date? Is it being discussed in any serious manner, such as development / targeted release / implementation plans? Or is it all still undecided and not really going anywhere?
Sorry again, but thank you for your time!

Hi Pablo. Hope all is going well.
Can the Mesh: Snap_Utilities_Line tool get a bit more love and be moved to
Object mode > Add > Mesh > Line
Just now we have to install an add-on just to draw a mesh line.
So many people don't know that Blender has a mesh line tool and it's super useful. When I first started using Blender, I was also told by most people there just wasn't a line tool and was told I had to extend points just to draw lines. It's basically a polyline tool and can make heaps of unusual shapes as well.

Question:
Is there any info on when we might see support for custom vec2 array attributes in alembic? we're looking for this to store custom uv's generated in maya. ty!

Hi flo, have you tried setting the vec2 into vector3 form.
Exporting from Houdini this allows to export costum attributes and blender reads no problem as color attributes.
I geonodes and shader editor you can then separate by component and use them

sorry, i misspoke (wrote). a colleague is using Maya to generate the custom UVs and they are then sent to UE for the groom system.
They would like to teach this workflow to students using blender, but groom requires alembic in with the uv's for haircolor stored in a custom attrib vec2 array. blender cannot currently export this. i will try as pablo suggested, checking in on the blender chat.
thank you for your feedback. :)

Where do we add questions for the Live Stream? I'd like to hear an update on texturing, thanks

We add them here, don't we? I tried YouTube but it was user to user on YouTube.

Hi, will blender have a lens effect option like v-ray? that post-processing is really great

Good day Pablo. Will we be getting some curves like Illustrator one day? Easy to move drag-able points and anchors.

we already have it! look for NURBS, splines, and grease pencil! there are several implementations of splines!

HELLO PABLO!
How are you?

Will there be a way to simulate crowd and make them fight each other?
n
nubnubbudAuthor
there was a BCON talk for this! I've also tested some of the stuff needed for it. it's not as hard as you'd think once we get animations in geometry nodes really hammered out. basically, you'd just have to blend to a new animation and movement set when in proximity of an "enemy object"

You might be able to use the Mario add-on. It turns Blender into basically a Mario game.

When will animations come to geometry nodes?
n

well, if you use alembic caches, you can do it, but you need to use an expression in the alembic cache and don't have per-instance control over animation timing.

Howdy Pablo! when do you think something like this will be fixed? not a serious bug but a bit annoying sometimes

Hey there :)
The two things that caught my eye from the blender conference is the new Principled shader and the new bevel.
Can we expect these features to land in blender 3.5?

Is there a plan for a node based outliner once all the major geometry nodes are made?

Hi Pablo, I'm so glad about the Conference;
I was wondering why I'm not able to use the "copy all selected" feature when right click on a set of xyz, it is always greyed out; am I missing something?
Thank you so much
