The best Linux distro for Blender?
Hi Pablo, I am considering switching over to Linux from Windows, after learning that Blender, and basically everything is faster on Linux. But, there are are just so many distros - they're really hard to pick. But from a lot of reviews - I've handpicked Ubuntu, Pop OS, Fedora and Manjaro.
Which would be the best distro in terms of performance, GPU and software compatibility?

If you have a NVIDIA graphics card, get Pop!_OS , it comes with the graphic drivers bundled so it's much easier to get it up and running.
It's based on Ubuntu so you can follow all tutorials and documentation for it which is huge.
* @Pablo Vazquez * Thanks a lot, man! Didn't know you would reply. I am trying to get Pop OS to work - but the installation on USB is a frustrating process. Do you know any good resource for Linux installation via USB?
* @psychomantissa24 * did you try Rufus already? It's pretty straightforward, it worked with any distro I tried so far.
Don't know exactly what issues could be, as I've never tried installing it to a USB. If you have an old hard drive lying around that'd be the best way.
I've just had a really bad experience with Mint, not sure what happened as I'm no Linux expert. I went with Zorin OS, it looks neat and the setup it's one of the best I tried so far.
I use Ubuntu Studio ubuntustudio.org/
all latest linux distribution you like to use, i prefer debian or ubuntu to compile Blender by myself
I use mint/xfce. No problems, it just runs. I download and unpack the latest Blender beta every day, unpack and work with it. Perfect system.
* @richard * May I plug my little (free & open source) application to help with that task? github.com/overmindstudios/BlenderUpdater
Also, I got a command line version if you're not a GUI person: github.com/overmindstudios/BlenderUpdatercli
Hope that helps save some clicks! :)
* @Tobias Kummer * Interesting, thanks.
