Extra Wireframe in Edit Mode gone after hidding vertices in Blender 2.80

In Blender 2.79, when I am in Edit Mode and move vertices/edges/face and lock the location others, I usually hide them first before moving the subject vertices and with subsurf I can still see those extra wireframes even after I hide some vertices.

But in Blender 2.80, those wireframes are gone after hiding the vertices. Is there I way I can re-enable it again?
