Blender 'Not responding'? Help please!

Hello everyone,

I'm new to this forum and also new to animation. Creating my own character and now facing hard a little bit. I have now made almost everything right in my character and now requires a little more to end. When I open the blender file, the screen becomes white and it shows 'not responding' in the top of the screen. When I leave a little time waiting, it loads. But, then when I try to do changes, specially when trying to get the object and the skeleton into one object, it gets stuck. It doesn't load thereafter. The screen gets completely stuck and it shows 'not responding' from the top. After a time, the laptop restarts automatically back to the desktop screen.

This is happening repeatedly and it's frustrating. What could this be?

The laptop is a Lenovo LOQ 4050 Ryzen 7 GE force RTX, with a 16GB ram, 512GB SSD and 6GB RTX 4050 VGA card.
