Advice on "Should I buy a new PC?"

Hi, I am Aryan.

My PC has following specs:

15 years old PC. 2 GB ram. No graphics card. Intel G33 dual core. 32 bit. Opengl 1.4.

Runs Blender 2.76. Blender crashes during rendering and very slow. Can’t sculpt. Can’t update to latest blender version. I am a beginner and have done a few works and I intend to work on Blender and CG in the future (I am 15).

Please give advice if I should buy a new PC, if so what are the specs.

Thanking you in advance.

Your BLENDER ARTIST - ARYAN.

I started doing blender on a PC from 1999 with no Graphics card and only 700MB of ram. Blender 2.5 it was. About 2010. It's good to have a terrible PC. It teaches you to think creatively. If you would start on a best machine ever you will never learn how to optimize things. P.S. I used Linux.

* @Jorge Zombie * That's an interesting perspective.

Maybe, if it's a problem of perf, you can try linux. Also, to start all pc are good, I started with a Intel Celeron (2cores) and no graphic card. The ram is going to be short, but, you can learn many things with this king of computer. Here is the force on blender, you can run it on every pc, no ultra performance needed, but windows is taking too much of the performances of your pc, I recommend you to install linux (if you can).

But, if you have the money for buying a new computer, buy a new one, you will not have to do in the future.

Nah, try a shadow pc (Shadow.tech) even works on low end connection, and when you'll be financially ready buy a new computer, or upgrade subscribtion

2.8x has outgrown my rig. Mostly it's the Nvidia drivers even though my gtx770 is on the list of a compatible card, OMG is it unstable on 2.8x. BTW I'm on the record stating all that back in the 2.79 days.

This is kinda troll level post, with this specs it's miracle that Windows even starts, even tho I will reply. You need new pc for sure, not only for Bender but using pc like anyone else in 2020 :O

A graphic card is necessary (I think). Depending on your means, buying a second hand card can be a solution (especially for old hardware). Otherwise, you'll have to refresh the machine with new stuff. You can buy a low-end processor and a low-end card. It'll work fine. Yes, it's impossible to sculpt with your machine.
