Architecture Modelling

Hi, I am really new to Blender. I am trying to import DXF to Blender but It does not come to proper scale. Even I apply the ration 1m = 3.28084 ft. As I want to work in Imperial scale. It give error. Secondly, Why one has to always draw measurement out side then snap with the line. Which is so much time consuming. Is there is anyway to do? I had ask this question previously but I didn't get any answer for the same. As being an Architect I like to work with precision. Regards,

DXF Import Set Blender scale to Imperial at 1.0; Import DXF at scale 0.02540650; Select edges and Convert to Mesh from Curve/Meta/Surf/Text
