Hello Pablo! Are there any plans to improve the Knife Tool or Bisect? For example, snapping to vertex/edge of other objects? And will there be any improvements to the curves?

Hi Pablo! Should we expect improvements of poly-modeling in blender any time soon, or developers efforts focused on other tasks? As for me poly-modeling looks a bit abandoned now ))

Any news about new tools for precise modeling? Many existing tools work fine overall but can be improved in terms of functionality and UX. And it would be really nice to see in Blender dynamic pivot.

And maybe it's time to delete objects in one click, without a popup list? Although it seems too radical))

And thanks for the incredible work guys!

* @verderblich * I already mentioned this problem, archiviz, design and cad tasks are still difficult in Blender.

borschberry

* @Mille Porte * Yes, the blender has become really good for cartoon characters, but the hard-surface modeling is not its greatest strength. It seems to me that this is a common industry problem - the development of modeling tools has slowed down.

MS.Visualization

* @verderblich * You can already delete objects without a popup list using the "Delete" key instead of using the 'X' hotkey.

On the last Blender Today Live, the idea of creating a Livestream about working with Blender's code was mentioned. Are there any news on that? Additionally, will a guide about making a simple change in the program be created, as an example, to help more people who are interested in helping with Blender's development get started?

Hello Pablo. Thank you very much! I've been following your blender today section for over a year now, I've even watched some of the older ones just to hear about the features of blender I had no idea about.

I have a request if it is not too much to ask. Could you please fix a paper cut, or an easy-to-fix bug, or any other simple task with blender code, and film your self doing it? It would be a great help for people like me who want to help with blender development and have no idea where to start. I know there are text explanations for these kinds of tasks, but a video manual, especially from you would be far better.

* @13thxenos * I have not followed this myself, as I believe my level of coding is too low to grasp, but you can check this tutorial by Jacques Lucke: youtube.com/watch

Hi Pablo, I just wanted to ask to ask regarding the topic of retopology, what will Pablo Dobarro take care of first? Retopology or multiresolution?

Hi Pablo! How are you today?

On the last stream, I asked about drawing in edit mode. I wasnt clear enough, so I'd better rephrase my question: is it possible to have a drawing instrument in mesh edit mode? It could work almost the same as drawing freehand curve but inside mesh edit mode and it could work creating vertices connected with edges.

The second small question: you had mentioned once that no new features or new modifiers would be added to Blender since it Everything nodes is on the way. Although, Weld modifier was added not so long ago. If it's not quite true what do you think about those two requests:

  1. add "convert to instances" button on Array modifier
  2. fix "fit curve" options of Array modifier, so it duplicates mesh ALONG curve.

Hello.

  • Is there any chance that we can get the 2.7 grid? i am not fan of the infinite floor that's used by game devs.

What's 2.83 list of new features? it seems there is an overlap between 2.82 Bcon4 & 2.83 Bcon1 which leaves just a small window, shouldn't be given at least more week to get stuff in?.

frostcrackstudio

Will Blender update on Steam and Microsoft store at the same day as it is released?

2
Xdragon5502

Will Blender 2.83 or later updates get a snow simulator preset like the fire and smoke?

Hi Pablo, blender is already pretty good now, but I just need one more thing to call it a blender, i.e. universal tool, is fully working VSE. Now it’s quite difficult to video editing with effects due to the not optimized viewport and the slow rendering speed, proxies do not help a much. Have some plans to optimize VSE?

Hi Pablo, is possible to have curvature in eevee , or overscan in workbench? Without overscan is not possible to render tiled textures without seams. thanks.

Hi Pablo, why wasn't Jaques Lucke not on last livestream? Did he already leave? I wish him good luck with his particle nodes project!

Good morning (morning where I am, at least) - I was wondering if the 2.8 version was going to implement the feature from 2.79 and previous that brought you back to where you were when you open a saved file. As it is, opening a new file always puts your view point at some default location rather than where you were when last working on the file. This goes for the outliner, too, which defaults to expanding all of the levels in all the work spaces, so I need to collapse them all before looking for what I need.

Edit: yes - I have "Load UI" unchecked (do a lot of support on BlenderArtists.org and I found it difficult to see others' UI) - thanks for the tip

* @phillip * I agree; that this should ideally be possible without loading UI. Especially when working in a team environment. It is very annoying to always have to navigate when opening a file. One workaround is to use 'Stored Views' and save a view that is appropriate; and then click it after opening.

I love that the Info Editor is being worked on. Is there any reason why select operations are not listed there? It would be cool if you could select a few lines from the Info Editor and right-click menu "Add to Quick Favorites"!

Hello Pablo, and Dalai ! Thanks for this stream, it's awesome. The undo - CTRL + Z - in Blender 2.8X is really slow on big scenes, what are the plans regarding this issue ?

When will blender get vulkan support?? Also how do I import hair made in external dcc like Houdini??

1
sr0rr3

* @hannanhanid * github.com/lichtso/hair_guides/ or github.com/Jandals/HairNet The discussion: blenderartists.org/t/hair-guides-created-from-mesh-objects/572642/197 The workflow is that you export hair guides from you DCC and regrow all the interpolated children in Blender then.

Hey Pablo, What about PBR Texturing like, Substance painter In blender...??? I know this gonna take some plethora amount of time as it demands the huge changes in current core programming code of blender and a little bit hard to manage it as well. but, blender foundation team should consider this as a new whole thing ( because we don't like adobe but there is no option because they dominate the market right now. :( ) It is the best thing to do to make blender even great again..!!!

my second question is, we saw huge/little bit development in all other areas of blender except modelling ( edit mode ) part. should consider adding more features to modelling part be a great thing because the majority of blender users are use blender as a modelling tool ( really it is great for modelling. just make it even greater ) rather than JackOfAll.

* @n.joshi007 * I would like to see improvements more like substance designer; aka procedural materials.

Hi Pablo, I understand that at some point of development of 2.82 blender no longer loads the PYTHONPATH environment variable. I understand the reasons behind it, just dont like much the way we can override this by launching Blender with specific command line arguments because I usually download Blender beta and have to keep updating it to read the variable. Is it possible to have the possibility to turn it on the Blender preferences instead?

Ciao Pablo! How was the italian trip? I miss the green color selection used in old Group and now, by default, is the same both single selection and collection. Ciao :)

Would it be easy to implement a search box at the top of the workspace filter Addons panel? This would be so helpful.

How could i turn on the 3d brush in texture paint?

rushsamurai1

Hello, are you planning to improve mantaflow in 2.82?

ogierm

Hi! Are there some plans to get patches from the community like Destructive Extrude reviewed faster? Maybe do something similar to the Tracker Curfew for patches?

Metrons

Hello Pablo thank you for your incredible videos, I look forward to this every single week.

2 quick questions.

  1. If I'm an edit mode and I press the paint select button, I can no longer rotate the viewport? this is a huge pain because I almost always need to select more components.

  2. Can you guys please, please disable the default backface selection? By that I mean if I want to select through something I have to enter x-ray mode. This is completely tedious, I've never used another program that works like this. It's extra annoying because entering x-ray mode makes things even harder to see. Please just let us select by default through the mesh if we want.

Hi Pablo, I heard there is a new implementation of booleans in the work that will support operations between objects with flush geometry. Do you have any news about it and when it will be released? Thank you very much!

rohitaug

Hey Pablo! Is it possible to color code bones depending on its keyframed state? Like if the bone has been transformed from a previous keyframe but not keyframed for the current frame it would show up as red (location), green(rotation), blue(scale) or combinations of them.

carterdry

Hey Pablo! Just a quick comment! The timeline gets annoying due to moving up and down on the vertical axis When I use a trackpad (I use a Mackbook Pro) I end up having to scroll all the way to the top to find my keyframes. Is it possible to turn off vertical scrolling? I don't think there is a reason to scroll vertically anyway... Thank you! you rock guys!

frostcrackstudio

Can you add a warrning on tools that can slow down the performance?

Jakob-leitner

hi guys, which workflow would you use to handle heavy scenes best ?

maisamh80

Hi great blender presenter; Pablo. Any news about layer painting in texture paint mode? And when can we meet Jacques Lucke in Blender Today about everything nodes?

Silas

Hello, is something planned for the fracture modifier? Its such a great modifier and i hope to see it soon in blender 2.8.

Josephbburg

Pablo! Is there ever going to be another code quest? Take my money!

Hi Pablo, does Blender have layers sculpting, I am not asking about the "Layer" brush, how to add layers of sculpting on the object and switching them on or off?

Apofis

Hi, Pablo! Thank you to the entire development team for Your great work! There was a question about UDIMs. I tried to bake AO, but only the first UDIM tile is baked, but not all

Also not can use packing UVs for all UDIM tiles

Any change for an add-on channel on blender.community?

Heya Pablo! Can you ask Zeddb what other cloth solvers he recently tinkered with? His weekly report stated something that made me curious, see here: imgur.com/LZViB97
