Hey Pablo. A while ago you said that you're ok with when canceling extrusion, it would only cancel the move action.

I have been teaching blender in an Arts academy, and I can assure you, that is no good. It's very unintuitive and almost every student I had has stumbled upon a problem because of this. For example, they ask me "Why isn't the bevel modifier working?" And it's always because they have duplicated vertexes after they canceled extrude at some point. I don't even have to check before answering this, because this is incredibly common! So yeah, canceling extrude should cancel extrude! It should be so, If you want a zero distance to extrude, you type "0" and APPLY.

YES! Also because if I need the result of my extrusion to be in the same spot but keep that operation, I can just press the right mouse button, like every other modeling operation in Blender. RBM for keeping, ESC for cancelling.

Nah, bro. Both Right click and Esc do the same thing. Are there any examples of when they differ?

monocrmd

Hundred percen agree! It's really unintuitive and interrupts the modelling workflow when you are coming from any other software. I was actually about to put in a bug report because it really feels like a bug.

slowk1d

No man, I meant that this how it should work. Now they do the same, in my dreams ESC should cancel!

slowk1d

I can't say how many times I did Merge Vertices just for the possibility of having canceled an extrude before.

Yoo good idea to add the changelog here! How would the VSE retiming work with scene strips? Will it render the frames regularly and interpolate from there or will it render whole new frames from the start? Knowmsayn?

Hello Pablo, I'm sorry if this question has already been discussed but is it in the development plans to implement a "Justify" Layout option in the VSE text element? Thank you very much!

Hi Pablo!

Do you think in the future we will get more and also different kinds of assets that are included in the essentials bundle? Would be really awesome to get some basic meshes and different materials directly shipped with Blender.

I think this is something that Unreal does a pretty good job with their Quixel Bridge. No need to manually get certain assets from someplace on the internet, everything is just directly accessible inside the software itself.

Would be awesome if Blender takes the same direction with their pre-shipped assets...

Hola pablo, I hope you are doing well. I noticed that in Blender 3.4 the right click context menu in edit mode is not snapping to the last option when used, whereas other right click menus can. This issue is a bit annoying if you are used to it working.

Turn on experimental and add adaptive subdivision to your mesh

Thank you very much for your comment, in fact, I will go to the settings that should be like seeing in the image. I love watching your videos on Youtube.

Hi again. Just a quick question. How do you tell which notifications you've read on this website? When clicking on the bell, the notification list seems to offer no indication of which are new/unread.

Even if I click on a notification that I know is the only one I haven't read, the icon still shows I have new notifications.

Hi Pablo. I have idea. Maybe will be good in every stream to spend 20 seconds before answering to comment to explain people that you have limited number of developers and you are already have a plan to year ahead to prevent spend minutes to answering the same type of question like "why you don't do this, why you don't do that".

Hello, hope you're well.

I reported a bug last year which makes it impossible to rebuild the image from passes if there is a material whose material output node has both the surface and volume input connected. The volume data is lost. It means you can't render water and such.

Would it be possible for you to turn an angry green and frighten your colleagues into fixing it?

Here's the report: projects.blender.org/blender/blender/issues/96202

Cheers 👍

Hi Pablo :) Hope you're having a nice day!!

Do you know any news about blender liquid/smoke simulations? What are the current plans?

phillip

Hello Pablo,

Thanks for all the work you do for Blender, both on and off the clock.

And speaking of your wonderful work, how do you think the new Blender community sites are going? I spent the last couple of months hanging out and had some thoughts, but was interested in your view of things.

Thanks!

P.S.: I've had some time on my hands, and have parked a huge wall of text here: blender.community/c/rightclickselect/zXKO/

No need to open the link live, or respond to it at all. Just a view of things.

Thanks again.

Hi Pablo and happy Monday! 🙂 I have a quick question about the colour picker. Not sure if this has been implemented since I last tried but is it possible to pick colours from outside Blender? If not, is there any plans to implement this? I've been lacking this feature since many other softwares have this.

Thanks, Mattias

hi Pablo is it possible to create a shortcut to turn on and off the auto animation button directly from any area? So from the timeline panel but also from the graph editor or outliner. One button to rule them all without a mouse movement or click.
