Its almost too minimal? My biggest dislike so far is that they show the thumbnail without any information at all. You have to hover over each one to see only the title. I think it would be better with the title always showing and the description appearing on hover. I also miss it showing the license in the corner of the thumbnail. It is cleaner in general, and a step towards the future for sure. Just missing some of a functionality.

* Agree. Too little information is displayed on the thumbnail screen.

* a refund?! seems a little harsh for a day or so of down time in order to update. I haven't had any errors at all yet myself. Page loads fine. It was mentioned specifically in the news section that the site would be coming down overnight to fix search functionality. So if you're in the wrong timezone I could see it effecting your work day. It has to happen sometime though.

* Yes, it MUST be fixed soon. I registered a monthly membership three weeks ago, but the service has been suspended many times recently (official announcement:
Blend Swap | About errors and downtime
). Any paid service shouldn't do like that.

* I wouldn't call blendswap a paid service myself. Its a free service that, thankfully, many in the community like you are willing to support and keep possible for others who may be less fortunate. Because of this we are able to build a large community and collection of blend files. I think it would be a shame for the website to lose your support over some troubles in the larger update. Having web developing experience myself I can understand how john would have difficulty updating the site by them self with no downtime. Maybe if it was only a paid service they may have the infrastructure and programmers needed to keep 100% up time. But we would also lose many in the community that make the website so valuable with its large collection.
Truly, thanks for the support you have given!! Blend swap is an amazing community, and I hope that these few days of downtime would not be enough for you to no longer feel your contribution is worth while.

Website is up now. Looks really nice and loads of search options. The only missing feature really is the "forum" like part.
Personally, I don't mind the forum part being gone. There are quite alot of forum places for blender.
