Blender Today - Roadmap & Feedback
Hi there,
You all look great Today! New haircut?
Thanks for a wonderful release. It's so nice to see people enjoying this new way of sharing. We want Blender.Today to be the a clean, simple, easy way to share what's important to you. No middleman. No ads. Just share.
We've been out in the wild for only a few days now, but we have big plans for the next weeks/months. We want Blender.Today to be a community project. As transparent as possible. For that reason, Blender.Today is completely open source (more about it soon), and the plans for it should be too.
Note: We'll be editing this thread as we implement new features and the roadmap changes.
Roadmap (no specific order)

You think pasting links now is fast? Imagine if just pasting the link would retrieve the title and an image. Even faster! Of course you can change it afterwards, but most of the time it will work just fine. Especially with links to popular sites like YouTube. This takes a bit of work to get it right, but it's high on the list. -

This one is pretty obvious. It was even part of the release targets, but we couldn't wait and went live without it. Our fault. High on our to-do list! - Drag n' Drop - Same, drop an image anywhere on the site to share it right away.
- Sorting - Bring more options such as 'New' or 'Controversial'
- Open stats - How many are we? Are we doing alright? This information should be open.
- Infinite scroll - No pagination, scroll like there's no tomorrow
- Mobile apps - Bring Blender.Today with you. At the moment, mobile works just fine for viewing, but posting (and voting) is not as simple. Native apps are planned.
- Bots - Bring more activity by auto-posting popular tweets from #b3d
Of course there are million things we could do. But these are the features we have planned for the now, to get things up and running. More advanced things can come up later (and even coded by you!). Still, we want to keep Blender.Today as clean and simple as possible, so we'll be careful in what and how we implement things.
What do you think? Anything we're missing? Let's us know in the comments below!
Happy blending!
