Grease pencil stroke handling

I am a fairly new user to blender grease pencil, I do a lot of 2d representations and implementing grease pencil has drastically improved my work flow, which is in general quick doodle on a rough sheet of paper, scan and import images as planes (Thanks to blender 2.80), then quickly blocking out the shapes in 3D and then sketching on top with grease pencil and final is to draw again on top as to fix line weight and other stuff.

This process generally involves in building the 3d models first to block out the shapes and takes time in 3D modelling. On the alternate if i directly sketch on 2d animation workspace its relatively hard to control the stroke in 3D because either i have to use bend (Shift + w) or other relative tools which are proportional.

On the above note, I have a suggestion to improve this by introducing some control points to the refine strokes and able to move with in 3D like the nurb curve control points for instance.

I'd love this. I wish I knew enough to put together an addon, but sadly I'm less than a beginner with Python. It seems like a straightforward idea, I wonder if the toughest part would be generating the control points along the stroke, and if that would introduce any unforseen issues.

Great idea though! I wish I could help make it happen.

I think this could be a great addon. The GP developers are mostly focusing on the big issues at the moment, fixing bugs, making sure the tool is stable and so on. The underlying tools for manipulating a stroke in 3D are all there so you would need to implement the gizmos and call the blender API for the transformations. Again, this is perfect fo an addon

* @spaceshipwars * How do i let the developers know about this ?
