Colour code icons

I'm having real difficulty using blender 2.8 now the colours have disappeared from the properties tab icons. It's so difficult to pick out the right icon from the list. The colour coded icons in 2.7 worked really well for this. I do miss it elsewhere in the UI but the Properties tabs are causing issues. I spend ages scanning up and down the list trying to locate the correct tab. Is there a way in Preferences to change this?
