I think that's a good test you did there! But in the end I have to say that I was always able to optimize my render settings, regardless of the scene, to get similar values and absolutely good results. Of course, newer cards are faster and better. And there is a difference. But not as bad as promised ;). That's another thing with viewport renderings. The difference is really noticeable there. There are a lot of addons that promise us faster render times. But anyway. I was able to get really similar render times without any addons.
