Mantaflow in the actual 2.82 release

Hey folks,

I have watched many tuts and saw many mantaflow vids which are awesome. Now that 2.82 is release with mantaflow in it i am struggling to get even the simplest fluid sim to get started. Nothing works for me, i get no inflow, mesh, bake etc.. it just all sits there or the baked mesh is just my cylinder... pulling my hair out here... is it only me ? Can someone share a 2.82 demo scene of simple inflow in a domain plz ? Cheers.

Did some more testing and yes, when created on my main machine nothing works. When created on my laptop (or altered) the simulations work. Something is wrong with the blender on my main wks and the only thing different from my laptop is the addons that are active. This is very weird and annoying. Not sure if i'll find what is causing this.

Could be a caching problem. Usually i delete everything and start again.

Got it to work on another machine so maybe an addon is causing this not to work as intended. I'll investigate this weekend. Cheers folks.

lsscpp

as far as I have seen on tutorials now you have to bake to see something

* @ Lsscpp * i tried baking particles and meshes many times but no luck. I'll check some more tuts this weekend. Cheers

Just make sure that you have set your domain to be liquid or gas domain (from the simulation settings). It has to be same as the inflow objects simulation type, otherwise it wont work. But if that wasn't it, then I have no idea.

* @Blenderer * I have carefully set everything up as it should. Cube -> domain -> liquid . I tried a circle filled, geosphere and cylinder as inflows. Had an effector set to collision. At one point (see image above) i got it to show a baked fluid but it didn't flow or fell down, it just sat there. Not sure if it is me or if there is something not working in mantaflow. Can share the file if anyone is interested to have a looksee. Cheers for the tips.
