Great run through, but a video where you do try to adapt to the 'industry standard layout' would have really hit the spot.
For the professionals who this is aimed at that are going to try (or will be forced ) to bop back and forth, you have to keep your hands (literally and figuratively) on they keys and flow you know. It's a huge/dangerous commitment to abandon the muscle memory you've got between programs.
It's definitely true that it can be hard to follow along when so much training is for previous versions, but it's worth it to keep digging. I really envy the people who are adapted to Blender's old workflow, I see them screaming along.

Doesn't matter. If "Named Software" releases a Blender keymap. Tutorials will still be using the standard "Named Software" keymap.
Why make a tutorial that only hits a very small field(10%) of people?

* There are tutorials for everyone, customize keymap users are the ones seeking proficiency in their work, and that's something that should be valued nonetheless.

Example:
Maya users: 60%
Blender users: 30%
customized keymap users 10%
