Issue relating to blender

I have been working on building a scene in Blender. The blender executable file for that scene has come close to 3.1GB. And now I am not able to work flawlessly as before on this scene to develop it further. Please help me get through this. Thank You.

Two pieces of advice. Well... actually three.

First - what is far away from the camera does not need to be extremely detailed. Sometimes a plane with a picture on it is enough. Or maybe just the front facing vertices and a flat surface at the back.

Second - Go through each object and use modifier Remesh. Lower the number of vertices until you see a change in the viewport, that you don't like. Then back off a tiny bit until you can see basically the exact same object with less vertices.

Third - Whenever you have several object of same size and build, use INSTANCES. Copy the first object with ALT+d instead of SHIFT+d Gives you the added bonus that a change in mother object is replicated in all the happy little children objects. Remember to apply the changes - BUT not before you have saved your project with a new name. Just in case.

OHH. I forgot. Open object in edit mode. Select all vertices and Merge by Distance to remove vertices that are so close to each other that you won't notice that they are merged.
