2.8 GPU texture baking is broken ?

Edit:

its a known bug: developer.blender.org/T59238

Hi,

Yesterday i had some hard time trying to solve this issue: Cycle 2.8 Cuda error at cuCtxCreate: Illegal Address

I end up giving up and trying today with a new project, I had a simple scene, that only have a cube and 2 light sources,

  • Unwrapped the cube,

  • created a texture,

  • saved it,

  • added Image texture Node to the cube material

  • assigned the created texture to it

  • selected the cube

  • hit Bake

Everything worked as expected until i go back to the viewport (rendered mode) and start moving anything, nothing works, everything is either gray or "stack" in a glitchy way.

I hit Bake again, and the baked textured is now all empty (transparent) and i get this message:

Baking map saved to internal image. save it externally or pack it

following by this error:

Cuda error at cuCtxCreate: Illegal Address

And the only way to fix this is to change the rendering Device from "GPU Compute" to "CPU", once am at "CPU" everything works perfectly fine, i can bake as much as i want.

Note :

  • I have an nVidia GTX1070 and an i7 7700K

  • the same exact steps works perfectly fine in 2.7, with GPU compute.

  • I am using the latest beta release (December 16, 04:49:55 - 4488056f3d9)

Thanks!
