Hi, Pablo. Do you know, why developers still avoid to add vertex indices to Geometry nodes? It is essential thing and we still fake it

upd. Index of vertex or point. Its order number

disk.yandex.ru/i/kSPza0GAVNkqcw - picture And no, it is not exposed as attribute now…

As Hans Goodey answered: «something like that will be possible in 3.0 fo sure, not sure exactly when though».

Hey Pablo, How are you? Is there any estimated release date for the Sprite Fright? And will there be any chance that thumbnails will be reimplmedned in Right Cick Select?

Hey Pablo, any news on Asset Pipeline project? There should've been a second blog post if I remember correctly, but so far no updates as far as I know

Hey Pablo, hope you are having a good day.

Few questions, it’s been almost 9 years since Blender studio released a live-action VFX short film, Tears of Steel and if I’m not wrong, that movie was the reason why a lot of tools for VFX like tracking, etc was developed. Please make another live-action VFX short film sooner. Blender has come a long way in terms of rendering and simulation tools, animation tools, lighting, and everything and now it would be a golden opportunity for showcasing the insane realism and high quality render that can be achieved by professional artists and also it’s gonna push the development of VFX related tools and that’s definitely gonna spark a lot of people's interest to try out Blender.

Also, I think in my opinion, control-clicking/ shift-clicking a collection should select all the objects in a hierarchy instead of the current method. Also, I think a scroll bar would be really useful addition in the outliner as well when dealing with thousands of objects.

Also, I know that the physical Blender conference has been canceled, but will there be a virtual event like BCON20, if so, can you share some details? Thanks.

Hey Pablo Do you have any Advice for a Student Trying out Blender

Hola Pablo, greetings from Italy.

Recently i gave it a go editing videos on the video sequencer.

Is there any way to use the filters available in the compositor directly on the video strip?

Great work as always! Keep it up!

Hi, hope you're well. What does the pre-filtering actually do? denoise the passes separately, or something else?

Fred

He Pablo, Did you know that Eat, Blend, Sleep, Repeat can cause Burn out?? Especially when you work in a A******* using Company that has absolutely no idea what blender can do? You get grazy or insane because you are allways faster and can't explain them why. Because they don't want to learn blender and think A******* is the holy grail..

Hi Pablo I miss some feature :Please consider adding : [separate by lose parts] option in Object mode becouse there is no need to go to edit mode for that. also separate by lose parts option for curves.

Thanks

Hello Pablo how are you ? Asking on how to composite a vse stripe ? How to use keying or another nodes in compositor on a vse stripe ?

Hey pablo , ive been wondering, are there any rigging, animation playback or cachced animation playback improvements or implementations planned for 3.0 or the 3.0 lifeline? It's a very imperative feature for animators as the playback is not the best for most models rn also did u get the go ahead fro your geo nodes UI rework? it really looks like it should happen

Heisann, Pablo! Since it's a UI episode, and you're a bit of a UI guy (or are you?), what is your professional opinion on how animating witch camera is active?

It seems like the only thing in blender that has to use timeline markers, and I feel it's more of a vibe to use keyframes like everything elsse.

Pablo: Always enjoy the show.

Saw you demoing fonts tweak and wondered: Why do fonts have slots for regular, bold, etc. You can load whatever you want in any slot, so seems unneeded.

Hey Pablo,

Happy Monday! I don't know if the Blender institute is aware of Nvidia's physics engine "Physx" but it went open source a couple of years ago. Can we expect Blender to upgrate to this physics engine for the solvers in geometry nodes?

Hi Pablo, hope you are having a great day.

In Blender 2.91 and 2.92 the Convert command inside the Object's menu on the 3D viewport was called "Convert to", now in 2.93 and up is called "Convert".

I think this phrase change is not correct since you have an object selected and what you do is convert TO something else. If you read it out loud it sounds totally off: mesh convert curve, or curve convert mesh... instead, if you read the former phrase mesh convert TO curve it sounds correct. Although, on the context menu the phrase still uses the old phrase: convert to.

I think this change was because the Trace image to grease pencil was added, but in my opinion this operation should be moved outside from the "conver to" menu.

Cheers.

** Extrude, Instancing And Transforming**

Hi Pablo!

Would be very useful for all kind of modeling (even for base mesh to sculpt) if the extrude operator had this widget to rotate and scale following a path (even a curve in this case):

The second topic is about instancing in GN:

gn

would also be useful if I could attach a custom geometry inside the current node tree.
The actual behaviour is not efficient because it force to create separately the object to scatter, switching to another tree not related with the current one with several consequences that harm the procedural workflow.

The last question is about transforming: every time I do a transformation (rotate, scale and move) on an object I have to worry about apply or not that transformation so would be better insert an option to auto-apply the transformations, what do you think?

Thank you!
