Question: Using Blender 2.8 on Linux Cent OS

Hello dear Blender gang,

Windows 7 support will die next year and I consider switching to Linux Cent OS because many VFX application are referencing to this linux distribution. I have no idea why this and not Ubuntu or Mint so my question is if someone is using Cent OS here? Does compiling work the same as in other Linux distributions?
