Snapping in the shader editor should be seperate from the 3d View.
When i want to snap in the shader editor it doesn't mean i want the 3d view to enable it's snapping too & vice versa, this shouldn't be per scene but per editor.

Definitely. Actually, this should probably be reported as a bug as that functionality makes literally 0 sense. My only guess is that maybe there aren't that many people who use "snap nodes," so it went unnoticed until now
* @Zach Hixson * yeahh, big old bug -synchronized enable/disable snapping everywhere. Just a bug... No one just notice it during last 20 years. What we'd do without u.
* @IIIFGIII * And it still acts more like bug than expected and desired thing.
* @ Vyacheslav * It act as it have to - one operator synced for all editors. The fact that u don't like it not mean that it is bug, no need to write here such bullshit.
* @IIIFGIII * It should not sync all editors, it should sync only SIMILAR editors. I want to snap geometry but don`t want to snap UV or nodes same time. It is not about «like» it is about logic.
Bullshit is when you flush water in your toilet and it synced with shower, that maximize flow of cold water too.
* @IIIFGIII * one switch switches lights all over your house. And in the fridge, oven and car too. LOL.
* @ Vyacheslav * It work correctly and exactly how it designed - it is not a bug. To make it work different it has to be redesigned, but is still not a bug.
Then I work with Blender at this moment around two years and have never felt any frustration with this. Things are not as dramatic as u describe, enabling snapping in one editor woun't broke anything in other editor, it's just a mode. Maybe it need some switcher in preferences - synced/not synced, but it still not about bug...
* @ Vyacheslav * Your analogies are irrelevant, you are not a bot and don't work simultaneously in all editors. If you need to enable or disable the snapping - just press shortcut or hold Ctrl and here u are, not such big deal...
* @IIIFGIII * I use shadigh and object movement very often, because I use texture cordinates from empties and live voxelization. And yes, I use Ctrl. But it will be much easier to not press Ctrl everytime and to have no snapping in node editor. My analogies are relevant. Snapping mode shouldn't be linked.
And it is big deal: look at the amount of upvotes.
* @ Vyacheslav * I said that it's not a bug. Amount of votes have nothing to it.
* @IIIFGIII * not a bug, work as intended, but intended wrong way. Annoying papercut. And analogies are correct.
Absolutely. This has been a paper-cut annoyance of mine for a long time. And it will become even more relevant, as we start seeing more node-based workflows.
Duplicate of blender.community/c/rightclickselect/1Rfbbc/ But with better presentation +1
Agree!
Mark as DONE
When you select a material and no nodes are visible in the material editor, it should automatically pan over to the nearest material output node.
totally agreed
This should be marked as done
How in the world has this not been implemented yet, there are dozens of these duplicate requests. Is it really that hard to make this change??
Yes, its stupid to have snap affect different editors!!! Please make them independent 🙄
Yes please...
Agree. Extremely annoying thing
