After effects like time line for blender to replace video editor
It would be nice to improve the video editor in blender to work like the after effects compositer timeline, with support for multiple compositions. To be consistent with effects properties view and probabely scrap the video editor, after effects time line can handle video editing as well. If we can improve to that level

To make this a serious and actionable proposal, you're going to have to be a lot more specific in describing how your new proposed interface would work ("make it like AE" is not sufficient) and how to ensure we won't lose features that we already enjoy with the Sequencer.
Have a look at the comments here: blender.community/c/rightclickselect/B4fbbc/
the screen some ideas for the UI. To work composition and multiple composition. the sequenser is very simple ui right but if the UI can be upgraded to support. Most im-portantly expose the blender time on media clips in sequence. Tree like structure parameters/
As much as some people want to see everything but the kitchen sink in Blender, this is not a realistic goal. There will always be specialized applications doing one task much better and/or efficient than Blender's implementation. Some basic functionality for quick 'n dirty comps or edits is great, but don't expect a full blown Nuke, Fusion, After Effects or Resolve Studio and have Blender still be light and quick to launch. There's a lot to wish for in Blender, but this stuff is already there in other applications.
