Dim or Lighten the image in the UV editor cause the UV layout can get hard to see.

Dim or Lighten the image in the UV editor cause the UV layout can be hard to see against some images.

I propose a Brightness/Contrast control (as a curve perhaps) and a switch to enable/disable this effect.

Right now I achieve this by changing the color-space on the image. Yes, it's not ideal I have to remember to switch it back.

Thanks

I looked at this and thought I might take a different approach since the problem is the wires not showing up against the image - I decided to access the wire color so I can brighten/darken/color the wires in the View panel of the UV Editor. github.com/artistCDMJ/Utility-Scripts-for-Addon-Building/blob/main/UV_Wire_Edit.py

I've made similar suggestion a good while ago...

A screenshot example would help a lot here.

AFAIK the op proposes ways to color-adjust images in the uv/image editor to better see UVs when needed.

Technically we can already kind-of do that using the compositor, but we can only see the result non-destructively using the "Viewer Node" image, but UV's don't show up on that one (nor the "Render Result").
If we could edit UVs on top of the "Viewer Node" image, wouldn't it be a simple solution for that proposal on the devs' side?

Otherwise, I guess that is also a thing the texture editor could be useful at, if it were to be revamped one day. There's also this other proposal:
a compositor mode for editing images inside blender — Right-Click Select

Pablo, can you check my old request too (it had an image) - pretty please! ;)
