3D view multiple sync/lock
A sync option would be useful for multiple 3D views, either in a single or multiple monitors. (I've made a post about Quadview before, but the concept still applies).
Think of the rear mirrors of the car. Most cars have 3, plus the camera that turns on in reverse gear. You don't need to rotate them all the time, just once. As the car "rotates" the "view" in the mirrors move/rotate/zoom proportionally.
That's the exact same principle. Rotating the 3D view around is the same as taking the look away from the wheel to look around or behind the car. You can't drive so fast that way, and it's so exhausting for the neck as the middle button for the hand.
If the 3D views could pan and rotate and zoom in sync, it would be very useful. Not just for modeling, but also for rigging, animating, particles, texture painting.... EVERYTHING.
Everyone wouldn't spend so much time "rotating" the view.
Maybe it could be a small button on the corner of each 3D view to open a menu with "Sync: pan, rotate, zoom".

here's a sample video you can use: imgur.com/bDFEeWH.mp4 using same camera trick as Pawel Piotrowski.
I think perhaps a "sync view" button could be added like so:
Some thoughts on allowing user to have multiple synced views (for example, one set of viewports observe one object and move together, another set of viewports observe another object and move together, etc):
An editable list of named synced views (hereafter "views") would be kept somewhere in the viewport, probably the N sidebar. The user selects which view this viewport "subscribes" to, then enables it with the button in the above image.
So all viewports with "myFirstView" enabled are synced together, all viewports with "mySecondView" enabled are synced together, etc.
One entry should exist in the list by default so a user can start syncing viewports immediately with just the sync button.
The list of views should be accompanied with a "copy viewport to selected" button. If the user does not press it before enabling sync, the viewport will snap to/be overriden by whatever that view currently is.
OR, when the user presses the sync button it presents a menu with a choice of "(viewname) overrides viewport" or "viewport overrides (viewname)". (you could also just include the list of views here too.)
This all assumes "hard" synchronization, eg. all synced views have the same pos/rot, rather than having individual pos/rot with changes propogated (which I think is your point in the car mirror analogy). I believe the former would be more useful than the latter, or at least a more manageable starting point for implementation.

I think you should rework your post. All the stuff about car mirrors is muddying the main point. Yes, that's in there too but it's a few paragraphs down where most people might not bother to look. A video along with some practical use cases will do better than an analogy.

Workaround tip: I tend to create camera and set it to viewport specific camera for both viewports with enabled camera lock.
It is not working perfectly fine, but at least it's something.
@Pawel Piotrowski: How do you do it? I've tried to set each view to a different Camera and just can't do it
I think to be clear, this really needs a mock-up that shows how you envision this working. Video would be best, but a couple smart illustrative images would help.
Related to the actual feature itself, how would a user enable or disable syncing?
@Jason van Gumster: Good idea, I'll work on a video. as for the enable/disable, it could be a new button between "collection visibility" and "overlays".
