Native Credit info about licence and author for materials, nodes, objects, scenes etc.

I want to propose something i wanted to introduce in SAM, but maybe it would be better to have it native in Blender.

I would like to add licence info and author into each element of blender data. Node Tree, materials, objects, meshes, etc, by adding 2 attributes:

  • licence
  • author

As well as creating one function to collect all licences and authors. Thanks to this it would be so much better to credit people for materials objects or even whole scenes shared around internet. This move would also be nice addition to the Blender openess idea.

I'd recommend to have that on the Blend file level, since carrying that information around for all of the objects in a scene can make things fairly heavy. Maybe extend this to also include scene level arbitrary metadata?

* @scott * Maybe some operator to add those variables dynamic for each element when needed? With blend file level, whenever you copy elements to your scene it would loose the data. In my opinion it should be fairly simple for users, not to bother about that, but when needed just print all the authors.

* @tibicen * honestly, I think that having that data on the scene level makes sense. If you're linking from a scene, you still have a pointer to the scene, and the copyright info. If you're appending to a scene, then copyright will become tricky.
