Shortcut to render directly into new empty slot

It's pretty simple feature... I can imagine ALT + F12 to render directly into a new empty slot, so u don't have manually select a slot before rendering.

Pain in the Ass scenario:

  1. do a render
  2. closed the window with the rendered image
  3. wanna render a new variation to a new slot.
  4. F11
  5. switch slot
  6. do a render again
  7. now I have my new render variation in the desired slot....

ough...

let me know if I'm dumb and missing missing something?

Same proposal here: blender.community/c/rightclickselect/2Hdbbc/ someone suggested a history for each render slot, which I think would be even better.

IMHO you miss one fundamental part, opensource software as Blender can receive changes and new features from everyone, make by yourself your python script to do this and submit it to review at Blender developers to be included in new release

* @NiCapp * Nice thought... though learning the whole process + coding of publishing a change to Blender is not an option to me at the moment.
