I want to snap my nodes but not my 3D

Like many people who work with nodes a lot, I find myself turning on snapping to keep my nodes neat, however, this is a global toggle which turns on snapping in my 3D viewport at the same time. It's super frustrating to constantly be Shift+Tabbing to toggle it or else press CTRL while making adjustments in the 3D viewport.

I really think that snapping should be a toggle for each editor, rather than across the whole of Blender. Certainly with Geometry Nodes on the way a lot more people will be coming to use the node graphs and this should be implemented sooner than later.

Draise

A long requested feature asked about many time here in RCS. Not sure why it's not separate from the 3D view yet...

This is ridiculous. Snap on/off should be independent for different editors!!!

Hi. Have you tested node arrange addon bundled with blender yet ? not sure if it fits your needs but gets the job done for me; if your purpose is to make things clear for you in the noodle of nodes...

Check this (use search)

I think per editor would be annoying. Perhaps have a separate snap for all nodes editors. SO differentiate between 3d / nodes editors

* @vangel * A good point yeah! I'm not sure which other editors do snap but nodes being more of a logical interface I think should definitely have their own toggle separate to the rest!

This should be marked Done, right?

Yes, this will be a useful feature.
