Link viewport visibility to render visibility
As far as I know, there's no way to animate viewport visibility.
This is a problem if lots of objects change visibility during an animation. The viewport no longer matches the render at all.
You can't even preview it with a playblast.
How it would work:
In the outliner, right-click the viewport icon of an object >" link viewport to render". After this point, the viewport visibility would be linked to the render visibility.
Example:
An object is keyframed to be hidden after frame 10. Navigating to frame 10 in the timeline also hides the object in the viewport.
Bonus: It would also be nice to have this setting in the restriction toggle section so that it could be applied to every object in the scene.
I'm sure we've all had phantom objects appearing in our renders when they shouldn't be visible.
Thanks for reading.

There are probably more proposals about this.
I'm not surprised. It's incredibly basic functionality.
I made an addon to do this.
What is it called?
Match Render Visibility (Free) on Gumroad
It sounds like you’re confusing the old and standing viewport visibility with the quick hide feature, which is separate, and only recently added as an outline button. The viewport visibility can be animated, and I’ve even used drivers to link it to render visibility sometimes. You can use settings in the outliner to display all three buttons.
How?
If I remember correctly, it’s a little pulldown menu next to the funnel icon on the outliner to give you the option to show the buttons. After that, you can just right click them and copy driver, then paste driver.
